BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — On May 13, at approximately 6:45 p.m., a Kern County Sheriff's Office deputy was patrolling the Oildale area when he located a subject riding a motorcycle through traffic without a helmet on Airport Dr and Roberts Ln.

The deputy attempted to stop the rider, 33-year old Phillip Perry, however, Perry refused to stop.

Because of Perry's unsafe and erratic driving, the deputy did not continue to pursue him.

KCSO then utilized its Air Unit to locate and follow Perry.

Perry then began driving the wrong direction down Fruitvale Ave. attempting to avoid the helicopter and deputies.

Perry eventually fled on foot from the motorcycle in the area of Coffee Raod and Riverlakes Drive, the Air Unit directed ground units to Perry's location and he was arrested.

The motorcycle was found to be reported stolen.

Perry was arrested for possession of a stolen vehicle, felony evading, felon in possession of pepper spray, theft during a state of emergency and two no-bail warrants for possession of stolen property and violation of probation.

He was later booked into CRF.
