KCSO investigating shooting in Lamont that left one man in critical condition

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The Kern County Sheriff's Office is investigating a shooting in Lamont that left a man in the hospital with critical injuries.

According to KCSO, deputies responded Wednesday night to a crash near Weedpatch Highway and Buena Vista Boulevard around 11 p.m. At the same time, KCSO recieved calls about a shooting in a nearby area.

When deputies arrived, they found the victim with multiple gunshot wounds. KCSO said he was shot at an unknown location, drove away and then crashed the vehicle.

The victim is expected to survive.
