BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KERO) — The Kern County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a suspicious death after a woman's body was found in the backyard of a vacant residence in Oildale.

KCSO deputies responded Monday around 8:21 a.m. to the 300 block of Roberts Lane for a report of an unresponsive subject in the backyard of a vacant residence. When deputies arrived, they found the woman was not breathing and she was pronounced dead at the scene

Homicide Detectives responded and assumed the investigation. The body had no obvious sign of trauma, however, KCSO is treating the death as suspicious.

The identity of the victim will be withheld pending notification by the Kern County Coroner’s Office.
