KCSO responds to scene of shooting, makes arrests related to illegal internet casino

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — On Tuesday morning, Kern County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to two local hospitals for two victims of gunshot wounds.

Deputies determined the shootings happened in the west alley of the 900-block of N. Chester Ave.

Deputies responded to that location and located evidence of a shooting, additionally, they also located an illegal internet casino.

Nine people were located around the casino and detained.

Deputies served a search warrant at the location and seized evidence related to the shooting, four illegal gaming machines, one handgun, ammunition, and body armor. Deputies arrested Maytham Mnaather, 22, for resisting arrest, felon in possession of ammo, felon in possession of a firearm, and keeping a gambling premises.
