KCSO: Victim in Tupman stabbing identified

UPDATE (Aug. 24): The Kern County Sheriff’s Office has identified the man killed in the stabbing as 55-year-old Taft resident Danny Wayne Barham.


According to KCSO, at 3:12 p.m. on Friday, a stabbing occurred on Moose Street in Tupman, 43-year-old Alan James Oaks was later identified as the suspect and subsequently arrested.

When KCSO arrived they found two men with upper body trauma.

One victim died at the scene, another was transported to a hospital and is expected to live.

At 8:42 p.m., on China Grade Loop and North Chester Avenue in Oildale Oaks was taken into custody without incident.
