UPDATE: The Kern County Sheriff's Office identified the woman found dead in her home in Lamont as 36-year-old Lorena Fernandez. She was found unresponsive and was declared dead at the scene.
A cause and manner of death have not been released pending a postmortem examination.

According to the Kern County Sheriff's Office, deputies were called to the 8500 block of School Street where they found a woman dead in the home.
Due to suspicious circumstances surrounding the death of the 30-year-old woman, homicide detectives were called to the scene and an investigation is on-going.
