OILDALE, Calif. — The Kern County Sheriff's Office is investigating after two bodies were discovered Thursday afternoon off State Road just east of Highway 99.

Officials said deputies were called to State Road between Norris Road and Olive Drive in Oildale for a report of two possibly deceased people around 4:15 Thursday evening. Deputies discovered two bodies at the scene.

Homicide detectives were called out to the scene to begin their investigation. However, a cause of death has not been determined and the investigation is ongoing.
