UPDATE: Clifford Bennett, who was wanted in connection to a kidnapping investigation, has been arrested. According to the KCSO, "Clifford Bennett turned himself into Kern County Sheriff's Office deputies at the Mojave Jail on the morning of January 7, 2021. Deputies arrested Bennett without incident and booked him into the Kern County Jail."
Bennett faces kidnapping, willful cruelty to a child, battery, and weapons charges. No bail has been set and no date was given for any upcoming hearings.
The Kern County Sheriff's Office needs the community's help in locating a man wanted as part of a kidnapping investigation.
Clifford Bennett is 22-year-olds, stands 5 feet 10 inches, and weighs about 190 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes.
KCSO responded to a kidnapping in progress on 15th Street West in Rosamond on Monday morning. Deputies said that Bennett showed a firearm and forced a woman and her son into a vehicle against their will. He was last seen in the area of 20th Street West and Avenue I in Lancaster.
A warrant has been issued for his arrest.
