BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — On Monday night the Bakersfield Police Department arrested 30-year-old Jeremiah Aguilar for charges including elder abuse, assault with great bodily injury, and burglary.

According to the BPD, officers responded to a home on Panorama Drive following reports of a burglary. When they arrived they discovered an 82-year-old victim who had been assaulted and burglarized by Aguilar.

After the assault, Aguilar fled the residence but was located in the area by responding officers.

Aguilar was arrested and later transported and booked into the Kern County Jail.

The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment and was in stable condition.
