Man arrested for allegedly forcing woman from vehicle on Owens St.

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - A man has been arrested for allegedly forcing a woman from a vehicle in the 1000 block of South Owens St.

According to Bakersfield Police, on Sunday, September 6, at about 2:09 a.m., officers observed a man attempting to force a woman from a vehicle.

When officers attempted contact with the man, later identified as 24-year-old Miguel Valdovinos, he fled on foot.

After a being chased down, he was taken into custody in the 800 block of East California Avenue.

The investigation revealed Valdovinos attempted to carjack the victim, a stranger, whose children were inside of the vehicle.

Valdovinos made mention of being in possession of a firearm; however, none was seen or located.

Valdovinos was arrested for carjacking, attempted kidnapping, criminal threats, robbery and resisting arrest.
