DELANO, Calif. — On August 18, Delano police officers were sent to Nueva Vista Elementary School, in regard to a man carrying a knife.

School officials, with children present, said the man was holding the knife towards the school while exhibiting bizarre behavior.

Responding officers, located a male suspect walking into the North Kern Cemetery, who matched the description as provided by school officials.

He was armed with a 10-inch knife and repeatedly ignored orders to drop the knife and surrender.

After several advancements towards officers, the suspect was incapacitated by the use of a Taser and eventually taken into custody.

This incident resulted in an arrest with no injuries to the officers or the suspect.
