Remains of missing Lompoc man found almost three years later in Maricopa

MARICOPA, Calif. — The remains of a missing Lompoc man found in Maricopa have been identified almost three years after he was reported missing, the Kern County Sheriff's Office announced.

According to KCSO, remains found in November were identified last month as 29-year-old Zacharey Tayler Wilks.

Wilks was reported missing with the Lompoc Police Department on May 27, 2017.

DNA was able to confirm the remains found were in-fact Wilks. A postmortem examination was completed, and the cause and manner of death could not be determined.
