The Bakersfield Police Department is searching for the suspect responsible for shooting a man.

The shooting took place at the 500 block of H St. across from Palm Street in Central Bakersfield.

According to BPD, they found a man in an alley suffering from at least one gunshot wound.

He was then taken to a hospital where he died.

Police say despite numerous people at the scene of the crime and in the area when officers arrived, no witnesses have come forward.

Detectives are investigating.
