On Sunday, officers with the Bakersfield Police Department attempted to stop a gray Lexus for reckless driving near Cottonwood Road and East Belle Terrace when the driver took off and led officers on a short pursuit.

When the car became disabled, the three occupants in the vehicle attempted to flee on foot. Two of the occupants, 21-year-old driver Kevin Salazar and a 16-year-old juvenile were quickly arrested. A third occupant, 19-year-old Shawn Faria was arrested a short time later and was found to be in possession of a handgun.

All three were booked on firearm and gang-related charges.
