BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The Bakersfield Police Department is investigating a stabbing that took place Wednesday morning near Monterey and Haley streets in East Bakersfield. According to the BPD the stabbing was the result of a domestic violence situation.

The female suspect was arrested in the area just north of Niles Street. She had a child with her at the time of her arrest. The child was released to a parent.

No additional information is currently available on the suspect or the victim.
