BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The Kern County Probation Department announced the death of retired Probation K-9, Rossi Friday.
Rossi was companion to Probation Supervisor John Sanchez and served the Kern County Probation Department and the citizens of the county from April 2010 through December 2017.
We are saddened by the loss of Rossi; however, we are grateful for his faithful service to the community.

Rossi was certified in both suspect detection/apprehension, narcotics detection and until recently, was the only dual-purpose Probation K9 in the state. Together they earned multiple team K9 awards for narcotics building searches, agility, obedience, and building searches for a person.
