UPDATE: According to the Kern County Sheriff's Office, 48-year-old Meranda Michele Batista was shot and killed in an incident that happened in the 9700 Block Richland Hills Ln of Bakersfield on December 11th at around 7:15 p.m.
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KERO) — The Bakersfield Police Department is investigating a shooting at a home on Richland Hills Lane near Shelburne Drive.
BPD said the call came in at 7:15 p.m. for a possible suicide, but when officers arrived they identified two victims.
According to officials, one victim was pronounced dead at the scene and the other was transported to a local hospital and that individual's conditions are unknown.
BPD said there were three people in the house at the time of the shooting and multiple rounds were fired inside the home.
There is no suspect information at this time. The shooting is under investigation.
