MOJAVE, Calif. — Monday evening, a deputy on patrol in Mojave attempted a traffic stop on a speeding Honda Civic, the vehicle didn't stop and a pursuit began.

The driver of the Civic abruptly stopped on a dirt road and deputies attempted to take the driver into custody.

The driver, 31-year-old Vanessa Ponce, eventually stopped and was arrested.

During a search of the vehicle, deputies found suspected methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia and a BB gun. P

once was arrested and booked into the jail for numerous felony charges.
