BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The Kern County Sheriff's Office arrested 34-year-old Jesse Lopez of Bakersfield in connection to a deadly stabbing in Oildale Tuesday.

Just after 1:45 p.m. Tuesday, KCSO deputies were called out for a report of a stabbing at Belmont Avenue and Roberts Lane in Oildale. When they arrived they found an adult man in the parking lot of a smoke shop on Roberts Lane. The victim had been stabbed in his torso.

The man was transported to the hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

Lopez was arrested Wednesday and booked into Kern County Jail.
