Tehachapi police arrest 3 Kern County residents following traffic stop

A traffic stop by Tehachapi police led to the arrest of three Kern County residents.

According to the Tehachapi Police Department, on Wednesday at around 11 p.m. officers conducted a traffic stop on Highway 58 near the Love's Truck Stop.

"During the traffic stop officers discovered one of the passengers, Daniel Salvatierra, 35, of Mojave, was in possession of a loaded firearm, a quantity of methamphetamine, narcotic paraphernalia, and brass knuckles. Further investigation revealed Salvatierra was on active Post-Release Community Supervision and was wanted for failing to report to his supervising agent and was also a convicted felon."

The driver of the vehicle, 28-year-old Andres Esparza, who was on parole, was arrested for having pepper spray. Passenger Nora Esparza, who was on probation, had several warrants out for her arrest. The 28-year old also was in possession of meth.

All three were booked into the Kern County Jail.
