BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The Kern County Sheriff's Office cited three people, for giving alcohol to minors, during their December ABC Decoy Shoulder Tap Operation.
30-year-old Cory Williams, 56-year-old Gary Beltran and 22-year-old Joseph Royce were all cited for furnishing an alcoholic beverage to a minor.
According to KCSO, the operation took place at six locations throughout Bakersfield. During the operation, a minor under the direct supervision of a peace officer stood outside of a liquor or convenience store and asked people to buy them alcohol. The minor would tell the person they were underage and could not legally purchase alcohol.
The operation was funded through a grant by the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control.
