The St. Lucie County Fire Department confirms a 58-year-old woman as the first storm-related death from Hurricane Matthew. 

According to our sister station WPTV in West Palm Beach, Fla., the woman died of cardiac arrest. 

It happened around 1:20 Friday morning after the district suspended operations due to the severe weather conditions. 

Her death is considered storm-related because emergency crews could not respond to her call.
