How to burn off the calories of your favorite Halloween candy

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — It's around this time of the year where there's a bowl of candy wherever you go, but to work off a fun-sized candy bar, you'll have to sweat a little.

According to In-Shape Health Clubs, a fun-sized York Peppermint Candy of 60 calories requires 15 minutes of brisk walking on the treadmill at 3.5 mph.

If you're looking to get ahead of the game this holiday season, Carrissa Runyan, who is the client experience manager at In-Shape Health Clubs said now is a good time to maintain healthy habits.

"The importance of burning off the candy is so that way it doesn't process into fat," Runyan said. "The goal is to stay healthy during this holiday season and if you're eating lots of candy and you're not burning it off, we don't want that to turn into fat and cause health issues."
