April Steward had the idea to spread kindness in honor of her mother, Kathy Lynn, who passed away in 2016. Steward created 'kindness bags' to pass out to nurses in the NICU at Kern Medical, where her mom spent 12 years as a NICU nurse.
Steward said she saw how hard her mother worked and wanted to thank the local nurses for their dedication to keeping newborn babies healthy.
Steward said she hopes to do a small act of kindness in her mother's name every couple months.
