ARVIN, Calif. (KERO) — UPDATE 06/21 - 5:21 P.M. - The fire is 100% contained, according to Cal Fire.
UPDATE 06/20 - 6:25 P.M. - The fire is 74% contained at 577 acres.
UPDATE 7:40 P.M. - Forward progression has been stopped - per Incident Operations. All aircraft have now been released. Final mapped acreage for the fire is 530 acres.
ORIGINAL STORY:
A deadly crash off Highway 58 near Murray Family Farms sparked a wildfire Friday evening.
The California Highway Patrol said a car lost control and rolled off the side of the highway. At least one person was ejected from the vehicle and died.
The crash started a wildfire. According to Watch Duty, the fire has grown to 200 acres.
Emergency crews are responding to the scene.
