BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KERO) — Bakersfield police are investigating a shooting at Independence High School.
BPD confirms there is no active shooter, and asks the community to avoid the area while the investigation is underway.
A heavy police presence has been seen on campus, including in the football stadium.
Independence was hosting a football game against Centennial High School Friday evening.
