Rescue efforts are continuing this morning at the Kern River following a very busy weekend for search and rescue crews.

Officials will search near the Sandy Flat Campgrounds for a missing rafter.

According to KCSO a man was rafting in the Kern River Sunday evening around 4:30pm when something went wrong.

The rafter's son was able to make it back to shore, however the father did not.

Search and rescue crews will continue to look for him today. The missing rafter has not been identified.
