BAKERSFIELD, CA. — An increased demand in warehouse operations is calling for more general labor employees and forklift operators.

Randstad, a staffing agency, is looking to hire over 40 forklift operators in Kern County this week.

“There has been a large growth within our warehouses and we are expecting to fulfill the spots of a lot of forklift operators and a lot of it is the supply and demand that we have in today's economy that we have all these jobs available," said Eric Hernandez, Randstad staffing manager.

Forklift operators are expected to have a minimum of six months of recent experience.

“Quite a bit of openings throughout Bakersfield and up to the Buttonwillow area," said Hernandez. "We are looking for about 40 forklift operators in between both areas and the pay rate for those would be between $14 to $16."

The company is also looking to hire general labor employees with a pay rate of $13 to $15 and opportunities for overtime pay.

“Let's say they don't have experience with the forklifts or reach lifts, we are looking for laborers that are looking for work," said Hernandez. "Maybe it's their first time job or they have experience in manufacturing and they want to move forward in that field we have opportunities for them."

To inquire on these job positions, you can call Randstad at 661-832-1900 or visit their website.
