BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Wednesday afternoon, Adventist Health President Sharlet Briggs has announced she will be stepping down.

Briggs has been Market President and CEO of Adventist Health since November 2016.

Adventist Health had this to say:

Her service to Adventist Health has spanned three decades. Prior to leading Bakersfield, she established a reputation for leading turn-around efforts in almost all areas of hospital administration. In Kern County, Sharlet led the onboarding of Adventist Health Tehachapi Valley, bringing new hope for quality medical care to the community. We are deeply grateful to Sharlet for her years of commitment and service.

As we evaluate our leadership structure in Kern County, Jeff Eller will be stepping into an interim role of president for Bakersfield and will lead the process of developing Adventist Health’s long-term leadership model for the county. Jeff, the former president of our Northern California region, has served Adventist Health for more than 30 years, including 13 years as a leader in Bakersfield.
