McMurtrey Aquatic Center is holding 'Operation Splash' to help people cool off on Monday.

Activities include swimming, games and information on water safety, and will cost $4 per person or $13 for a group of four. The center will be open from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The event is put on by the Bakersfield parks and recreation department.
