BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The 'Ready-Set Back 2 School Health & Wellness Fair' is headed to the Kern County Fairgrounds Thursday to connect families with resources to start the school year off on the right foot.
The Kern County Department of Child Support Services is set to give away 4,000 free backpacks stuffed with school supplies to kids who attend the event with their families. In addition, there will be more than 75 community partners hosting a wellness fair, offering an assortment of services to families.
The 'Ready-Set Back 2 School Health & Wellness Fair' is being held from 9 a.m. to Noon. It is free and with everyone invited to attend. Backpacks will be given away on a first come, first serve basis. Children must be present to receive a backpack.
