One person is in the hospital after they were hit by an SUV in Northeast Bakersfield on Monday morning.

According to Bakersfield Police, the SUV hit the person in the area of Fairfax and Royal Coach Drive, just north of Panorama Drive at around 3:15 a.m.

Police say the person suffered major injuries and were taken to Kern Medical. 

That roadway was closed for short period of time, but is now back open.
