The display of 1,014 American flags can be seen through Sunday evening at The Park at River Walk.

The idea was based off of the flags that were set at Ground Zero for all victims of 9/11 and has now taken place for three years.

Tomorrow Golden Empire Drum and Bugle Corps will kick off the celebration at 11:30 a.m. followed by the playing of the national anthem and raising of the flag at noon.

The American flag will fly at half mast until noon before being raised and JROTC members will be folding and presenting flags to those that chose to be a sponsor.

The full event is set to continue until 4 p.m.
