One of the biggest groups of veterans Honor Flight Kern County has seen will be headed to Washington D.C. on Monday morning.
Honor Flight 41 will feature 101 Vietnam veterans and 80 support personnel.
The group is scheduled to begin gathering at Meadows Field starting at 6 a.m. and will begin going through TSA checks at 7 a.m. The group's flight is set to depart at 8:30 a.m.
The latest Honor Flight veterans will head to Washington D.C. to visit memorials that were built in their honor.
The group of veterans will return to Bakersfield on Thursday. A welcome back ceremony is scheduled for 8 p.m. The public is invited to attend.
