On December 14, 2016, around 8 a.m., Kern County Sheriff's deputies from the Wasco Substation were called to a possible kidnapping and false imprisonment at Wasco High School.
As they investigated the claims, they determined 18-year-old Esteban Garcia of Wasco got into an argument with a 16-year-old female student he knew, put her into his truck and drove her to the outskirts of Wasco where the argument continued.
As the female attempted to leave the vehicle, Garcia blocked her form doing so. He eventually drove her back to Wasco High School and dropped her off, where she was found by deputies unharmed.
Garcia was located minutes later and arrested without incident. He has been charged with kidnapping and false imprisonment and then booked into the Central Receiving Facility.
Garcia's bail has been set at $105,000.00.
