Two people were arrested for allegedly trying to steal about $500 worth of oranges.
According to the Kern County Sheriff's Office, deputies showed up to an orange orchard just outside of McFarland on Sherwood Avenue and Kyte Road. They found a van full of oranges.
The property owner said the van didn't belong to the company and shouldn't have been there. He estimated the value of the oranges at $500.
An investigation led detectives to 40-year-old Alma Duran and 33-year-old Julio Gutierrez-Montes of Bakersfield.
The two now face grand theft and conspiracy charges.
