Big news in local sports. Two Cal State Bakersfield athletes have been nominated for the 2018 NCAA Woman of the Year.
According to the GoRunners.com news page, Sydney Haynes and Angel Valdez were 2 of 581 female college athletes nominated.
Haynes was a mid-blocker for CSUB's volleyball team and Valdez was a long-distance runner in cross-country and track-and-field.
The top 30 honorees will be recognized and the 2018 NCAA Woman of the Year will be announced at the award ceremony on October 28th in Indianapolis, Indiana.
