A community is in shock after learning about the arrest of two Delano High School employees.
Delano Police Department received a tip regarding an inappropriate relationship that may have been occurring between a 28-year-old district employee and a 17-year-old student.
Investigating, Delano detectives tell 23ABC News that Bobby Scott Perigo was having a sexual relationship with an underage female student at Delano High School.
Police then discovered that another Delano High School District employee knew of the relationship but failed to report it.
Investigators say 30-year-old Juan Brito knew of Perigo's relationship with the minor and helped him hide it.
"He needs to get punished with all the laws too because he looked the other way and that's just wrong, it's absolutely wrong," said Jenny Vega, parent of DJUHS 11th grader.
The superintendent of the Delano Joint Union High School released a statement regarding the allegations made against Pergio and Brito.
Perigo and Brito have been placed on paid administrative leave. While Brito has made bail, Perigo is set to appear in court Monday morning
