A 13-year-old and 15-year-old have been arrested and accused of trying to kill a 14-year-old Tuesday afternoon.

On March 5 at about 4:30 p.m., Kern County Sheriff's Department deputies were sent to the area of South Union Avenue and Rexland Drive in South Bakersfield regarding a shooting. The victim, a 14-year-old male, was found suffering from multiple gun shot wounds.

The victim was taken to Kern Medical where he was treated for his injuries.

Deputies assigned to the Sheriff's Gang Unit conducted the follow-up investigation and were able to develop evidence linking a 13-year-old male and a 15-year-old male as the suspects in this case.

On Tuesday, Gang Unit Deputies executed a search warrant in the 500 block of Burchfield Ave. During the search of the residence, deputies located ammunition, methamphetamine and gang indicia.

Deputies located and arrested both of the juvenile suspects in this investigation on charges of attempted murder, conspiracy and gang participation.
