A two-year-old is dead and a man is in custody after the child was run over in a driveway Saturday.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a man was getting in his SUV to check on livestock at a home in the area of Sunset Boulevard and South Edison Road, in the Lamont and Arvin areas.
While pulling forward, the CHP says he ran over a 2-year-old boy.
The child suffered major head injuries and was taken to a hospital where he later died.
The CHP says the man, identified as 31-year-old Jose Arvizu Malagon. The CHP says Malgon was determined to be under the influence of alcohol. He was taken into custody.
