Bakersfield Police say they have captured a man who was wanted for the murder of another man in August of 2017.

Police say 19-year-old Michael Emery Johnson was identified as a suspect in the murder of 28-year-old Jesus Torres. Torres was found dead inside his car near Stiern Park in South Bakersfield back on August 30, 2017. Authorities say Torres died from blunt force trauma.

Johnson was taken into custody Wednesday, October 3, 2018. Records show he has been booked into the Kern County Jail on a first-degree murder charge and is expected to be in court Friday, October 5.

Investigators say this is still an on-going case and anyone with information is asked to contact Bakersfield Police at 327-7111.
