Kern County Public Health, Walmart Neighborhood Market of Oildale, Omni Family Health and Champions for Change will be hosting the 2018 Fruit and Veggie Fest on Friday, May 4th.
The festival will be held at the Walmart Neighborhood market in Oildale, located at 3111 N. Chester Ave from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m
The festival aims to increase awareness about the importance of eating better by adding more fruits and vegetables to one's diet as well as learning about the risk of obesity and other serious health problems.
There will be samples of recipes, free cooking tips at the festival. There will also be raffles and activities for children and families in order to showcase ways to eat better.
There will also be health screenings provided by Omni Family Health at the festival.
