BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Bakersfield College hosted the second annual Journalism Day on Friday. High school journalism students from around Kern County gathered to participate in workshops that cover the industry.

Local TV, print and online journalists helped lead the sessions that students from nine different schools sat in on.

"It's letting our students that are in our journalism programs across the high school district get a glimpse of, I feel like, the way journalism should be," Kristen Hunter-Flores, Ridgeview's journalism adviser said.

Students also took part in an on-site competition.
