21 pounds of methamphetamine seized in Southwest Bakersfield

The Kern County Narcotics Unit concluded an investigation on Wednesday, July 18 which led the unit to find 21 pounds, 12 ounces of methamphetamine at a residence in Southwest Bakersfield, according to the Sheriff's office.

The residence, on Paradise Point Pl. west of the Golden State Highway showed signs of the sales of illegal drugs, according to the sheriff.

Along with the estimated $392,760 worth of meth, a bullet proof vest, two firearms and over four thousand dollars were found. The sheriff said that one of the firearms had been previously reported as stolen.

Leonel Barreto, 31 of Bakersfield was arrested and booked into the Central Receiving Facility for several felony charges related to the sales of illegal drugs and charges to the firearms.
