Friday night 23ABC’s Kelli Johnson and Alicia Pattillo were masters of ceremonies for the NAACP dinner.

Dozens showed up at the Fandango Hall in Southwest Bakersfield to honor those in the community.

Tonight was the awards ceremony for the Bakersfield branch of the NAACP giving out awards for man of the year, woman of the year and parents of the year to name a few.

The event encourages people to be more involved in the black community.
