BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Donald Lora's rendition of the national anthem in 2014 during a Kern County Honor Flight captured the attention of those listening to those beautiful words and made Kern County proud.

Lora is a Korean War veteran, serving in the army for two years before moving to Bakersfield and working as the Chorale Director at Bakersfield High School from 1961 to 1981. He's this years grand marshal for the annual 23ABC Bakersfield Christmas Parade. He says that he's both humbled and honored to serve as this year's marshal. He stands on his faith in Christ and hopes to bring everyone together during the holiday season.
