BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The Kern County Probation Department Gang Intervention and Suppression Team says a .25 caliber semi-automatic handgun, multiple live rounds of ammunition, and three ounces of suspected methamphetamine were found during a probation search in East Bakersfield Thursday evening.
According to the Kern County Probation Department, the Kern County Probation Department Gang Intervention and Suppression Team conducted a probation search at a residence in the 500 block of Monterey Street in East Bakersfield. The department says officers contacted multiple people inside of the residence, including 50-year-old Rodney Jenkins.
During the probation search, and with the help of the Kern County Probation Department K-9 Unit, the department says officers located a .25 caliber hand-gun, multiple live rounds of ammunition, and approximately three ounces of suspected methamphetamine. The department says officers also located packaging, digital scales, an amount of U.S. currency and other forms of illegal drug sale indicators.
The department says Jenkins was arrested and booked on firearm related charges in addition to illegal drug sales related offenses.
