Today is World Suicide Prevention Day. Kern County's Save A Life Today foundation is holding their second annual Stomp Out Suicide Walk at Beach Park.
According to studies, suicide has risen by 30% over the last 10 years. Every 12 seconds someone takes their life.
Save A Life Today is a local organization dedicated to educating the community about suicide, lowering suicide rates in Kern County and helping families affected by suicide.
The walk starts at 9 a.m. Their goal is to reach to $20,000.
