Three people are behind bars for allegedly robbing and assaulting an elderly person.

According to the Bakersfield Police Department, a man went to a home on Thoreson Avenue, just off Wilson and Akers roads asking to use the telephone.

An elderly person went outside the home and that's when the suspect pulled a gun on them. They then went inside the home, where the elderly person and another person were tied up. One of the victims was assaulted.

Police say the suspect was in contact with another person who was apparently acting as a lookout.

Police were later able to track down the two, identified as 20-year-old Timothy Chaffold and 20-year-old Tyrone Mitchell. A third person, identified as 23-year-old Brandi Lenix, was also taken into custody for accessory.

Chaffold and Mitchell face conspiracy, armed robbery and gang charges.
