Three people are suffering from major injuries and police say a teen using her cell phone is to blame.

The crash happened just after 5 a.m. Friday morning on Weedpatch Highway just north of Hermosa Road.

CHP says the woman was driving a black car when she drifted over to the left lane hitting another car with two other people inside.

Both cars were wrecked and all three people were taken to Kern Medical.

Witnesses tell police she was using her cell phone when the accident happened.

CHP says accidents like this are preventable and any road has the potential to be dangerous depending on what the driver is doing.
